vet
Scot Harbin, DVM

Dr. Scot Harbin has spent his entire life in Indiana gradually working his way south through the years. Born and raised in the small town of Whiting, Indiana until he moved south to West Lafayette to attend Purdue University Veterinary School where he both graduated and married his wife Sherry in 1994. She is a professor at Purdue University in the School of Biomedical Engineering. Upon graduation, he moved further south to the Indianapolis area to start his veterinary career. He has been practicing veterinary medicine full-time at McCordsville Veterinary Hospital since 1998 after he and his partners purchased the practice. In 2001 he became sole owner of McCordsville Veterinary Hospital. He enjoys the variety of cases including medical, surgical, and dental cases that a general practice presents on a day-to-day basis. He enjoys educating clients whether answering their questions or providing information concerning the pet’s medical conditions.

When not at work you will usually find him spending time with his wife and boys, Alexander and Zachary. The household would not be complete though without the family pets currently consisting of one Golden Retriever (Mello) and three Domestic Short Hair cats (Camden, Oscar, & Kobe). Everyone in the family enjoys a multitude of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and scuba diving when time permits.

vet
Kristen Sprunger, DVM

Dr. Sprunger has been a part of the team at McCordsville Veterinary Hospital since May 2008. In 1998, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She couldn’t stay away from the Hoosier state for long, completing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 at Purdue University.

This gym rat works out nearly 7 days a week. From cross fit to weightlifting, she is a fitness enthusiast. Her two daughters, Bryn and Eve, enjoy spending time with her testing new recipes, and shopping online.

vet
Vanessa Belcher, RVT
In October 2019, Vanessa joined our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Her passion is educating our clients on the upbringing of puppies and kittens. She is a wonderful addition to our hospital. She attended Vet Tech Institute, graduating in 2013.
Vanessa lives with her husband, Josh. Together they care for their pets, Cash (pitbull), Dahlia (mini poodle), Storm their siamese mix, and a betta fish named Elvis Fishley. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her ever-growing house plant collection and going to car shows with her husband.
vet
Sam Haygood, RVT
Though you may not have met Sam, she is working hard behind the scenes to help give your pet the best care. Since September 2012, she has been sharing her expertise and skill as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), with us. She is a 2010 Graduate of Purdue University, with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. She enjoys challenging cases and cares for each patient as they were her own.

When she’s not at work, Sam keeps busy with her family activities, pets, and hobbies. Her and her husband, Brandon, have two active boys. Together as a family they love and care for two dogs (Karl Wayne and June) and two cats (Retta and Roz). When she gets a moment to herself, you’ll find her reading a book, listening to a true-crime podcast, or trying to sneak in another family pet.

vet
Karma Holland, RVT
Since January 2012, Karma has been doing everything in her power to make you and your pets’ visits as pleasant as possible. Early on she had a love for academia. She graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Urban Planning and Design and Master of Landscape Architecture, ABD. Despite all her academic success, she still felt a void that could only be filled with more schooling, and in 2011 she graduated, yet again, with an associate degree in Veterinary Technology. She thoroughly enjoys friending our small patients that offer more than a smile during their visits and seeing that our surgical patients get the best post-op care.

Away from the clinic, Karma spends countless hours with her husband, Matt and 3 boys. During the summer months, this family can often be found boating on Lake Tippecanoe with their dog, Charlie and cat, Clark. As if Karma was not busy enough, she enjoys running her craft business on her days off.

vet
Torie Humphrey, Assistant

Torie is another behind-the-scenes teammate. When not assisting in appointments, she’s working hard to keep everything cleaned and organized. She also sneaks off to the kennels to comfort and love on your pets after their procedures. She’s been another fantastic addition to our hospital.

You might find her and her husband, Alex, hiking with her 3 dogs, Mowgli, Berkley and Rusty, in their free time. If she’s not tending to her 3 pups, she’s probably dotting over Sweetie, her bearded dragon. Besides being outdoors, she also enjoys her time with her friends and family.

vet
Shelby Horsley, Assistant

You may have met this smiling face when bringing your pet in for an exam. Since she joined our team, she has been helping our team run smoothly. She received training as a veterinary assistant at Anderson Career Center and is enrolled in Purdue distance learning for her degree in Veterinary Nursing.

Shelby keeps busy during her days off with her 4 dogs (Bella, Zoey, Ryder, and Axel) and 2 chinchillas (Stella and Ida). This outdoor enthusiast also enjoys a few days indoors working on crafts for her small business.

vet
Parker Mohr, Assistant

McCordsville Veterinary Hospital just would not be the same without our little brother, Parker. If you’ve ever met Parker, you will know he’s not little standing at 6’4”. Since September of 2020, he has kept us entertained daily with his pranks, jokes, and soothing phone voice. Parker graduated in 2020 from Purdue University with a BS in Animal Science. He is currently working toward acceptance into Purdue University’s Veterinary Medicine School.

Parker is a man that needs little sleep. When not working you will find him on his family’s farm or volunteering his time as firefighter in a nearby community. Parker completed his certification in the state of Indiana for firefighting. He is raising two cows (Daryl and Benji) with the help of his dogs Oden and Whiskey.

vet
Calyn Pope, Assistant

If you have ever been at our hospital and felt a strong breeze, it was Calyn rushing past making sure everything is running as a well-oiled machine. She’s been part of our team since August of 2019. While working full-time with us, she is also taking online classes through Penn Foster to earn her degree in Veterinary Technology. Calyn also has a love of education and in 2017 received her BS in Criminal Justice from (shhhhh…do not tell our Purdue graduates) Indiana University. Thankfully for us, she appreciates working at a place where she gets to hone her skills as an assistant.

Concerts, painting, Zumba, road trips, wine and dinner out with friends are just a few of the recreational activities Calyn pursues after hours. She’s the one to sing along to every song and share a good joke. Her home is filled with love from three rescue cats (Andre, Stevie, and Huey) and one rambunctious pup named River.

vet
Audrey Hines, Assistant

Audrey has been a wonderful asset to our team from the beginning. We are elated that she choose us for her first job in veterinary medicine. Her love of learning and the veterinary field led her to enroll in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician program.
When Audrey is away from the hospital, you might find her spending time with her husband (Chandler), family and friends or watching the newest rom-com. When Audrey is home, she has the full attention of her two super fluffy Bernese Mountain Dogs, Bernadette and Rey.

vet
Jeanna Baker, Assistant

After spending years working in retail, Jeanna has rediscovered her passion for veterinary care. Previously, she worked as a veterinary assistant. Now she is brushing off her skills while spoiling your pets while they are in our care. From assisting in appointments, caring for patients after surgeries and closing down the building, we have greatly benefitted from Jeanna’s strong work ethic. This photography hobbyist, spends her free time hiking and camping with her fiancé, Julius, and their 4 kids (1 son and 3 daughters). They enjoy local state parks as well as traveling out of state. Her busy household is completed with their 2 dogs, Kira (a german sherpherd) and Jax (a miniature schnauzer).

vet
Stacey Valentine, Receptionist

When you arrive at our hospital you are probably greeted by Stacey’s smiling face or warm welcome. Thankfully she’s been with us since July of 2014. Stacey does the impossible: fielding phone calls, checking in/our patients, balancing the schedule of all our appointments, and deciphering the writing of our veterinarians. Stacey has an associates degree in accounting and her veterinary assistant diploma.

Rain or shine, you will find her outdoors. It doesn’t matter how warm or cold she enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking and fishing. Her love of the outdoors has led her to become an Advanced Indiana Master Naturalist. Stacey also enjoys the company of her great dane, Luna and her lovable cat Geoff.

vet
Sierra Grooms, Receptionist

Sierra joined us in April of 2022 as a receptionist and truly loves her new job here. Sierra has been in the customer service industry for the past 10 years and loves to help people and animals! She went to school at St. Vincent where she got her EMT/BLS license. Sierra is currently on a new path to discovering her true passions in life.

In her spare time, you can find Sierra obsessing over her Yorkshire terrier puppy, Bruno. She also loves coffee, astrology, Japanese culture, and crystals. Sierra has always been an avid animal lover, so much so that she became a vegetarian! She loves all animals, including dogs and cats, elephants, big jungle cats, and even penguins, and dolphins. When she has the time you can find her stimulating her brain by doing puzzles, painting, reading, and writing poetry.
