vet
Scot Harbin, DVM
Dr. Scot Harbin has spent his entire life in Indiana, gradually working his way south through the years. Born and raised in the small town of Whiting, he then moved south to West Lafayette to attend veterinary school at Purdue University…where he also met his wife, Sherry. She is a professor at Purdue University in the School of Biomedical Engineering. Upon graduation, he moved to the Indianapolis area to start his veterinary career. He has been practicing veterinary medicine full-time at McCordsville Veterinary Hospital since 1998 after he and his partners purchased the practice, and he became the sole owner in 2001. He enjoys the variety of medical, surgical, and dental cases that a general practice presents on a day-to-day basis. He excels at educating clients by thoroughly answering their questions and providing information concerning their pets’ medical conditions.

When not at work, you will usually find him spending time with his wife and boys, Alexander and Zachary. The household would not be complete without the family pets; one golden retriever (Mello) and three cats (Camden, Oscar, & Kobe). Everyone in the family enjoys a multitude of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and scuba diving when time permits.

vet
Kristen Sprunger, DVM
Dr. Kristen Sprunger has been an integral part of the team at McCordsville Veterinary Hospital since May of 2008, when she joined Dr. Harbin as an associate veterinarian. In 1998, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. However, she couldn’t stay away from the Hoosier state for long, returning to attend veterinary school at Purdue University, graduating in 2002. Dr. Sprunger most enjoys soft tissue surgeries, creating strong client relationships, and cuddling her feline patients.

When she’s not at work, her two daughters (Bryn and Eve) keep her busy with their after-school activities and demanding social calendars. If she does get a moment to herself, she loves to try out new recipes with her family, lift weights at the gym, and read books.

Owen Pulver
Owen Pulver, DVM
Dr. Owen Pulver is our newest associate veterinarian, joining our team in June of 2023. He is originally from Dwight, Illinois. He completed his undergraduate degree at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois in 2019. He then went on to attend veterinary school at Purdue University, from which he graduated in 2023. His favorite part of his career has been getting to form relationships with clients and helping their pets to have the best quality of life possible.

When not at work, he likes to keep busy with a number of hobbies, including gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and working out. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Mackenzie. They currently have one cat (Dash) and one dog (Daisy). Dr. Pulver is also an avid sports fan, with his favorite teams being the Purdue Boilermakers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Blackhawks

vet
Sam Haygood, BS, RVT

Sam has been a Registered Veterinary Technician at our hospital since September of 2012. She is a 2010 Graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. She has a soft spot for scruffy dogs and spicy cats, enjoys challenging cases, and has made it her personal goal to keep Dr. Harbin on his toes with her unprecedented wit.

When she’s not at work, Sam keeps busy with her family activities, pets, and hobbies. She and her husband have two boys active in “sportsball” year-round. Together as a family they love and care for two dogs, Karl Wayne (her favorite, but don’t tell anyone) and June, and three cats, Retta, Phish, and Mor. When she gets a moment to herself, you’ll find her reading a book, listening to a podcast, or trying to sneak in another family pet.

vet
Hannah Stettler, BS, RVT

Hannah is a 2024 graduate of Purdue’s Veterinary Nursing Program and is another of our RVTs with her Bachelor of Science degree. Hannah joined our team shortly after her graduation and despite her small stature, she has been a huge asset to our practice. She loves golden retrievers, cats of all shapes and sizes, building relationships with patients and clients, and following difficult cases from presentation to recovery. Outside of her career, she loves camping, going to the gym, or taking her two golden retrievers (Clover and Ellie) for long walks. She also enjoys concerts, shopping, and trying local coffee shops.

vet
Shelby Jones-Maddox, RVT
Shelby is a 2016 RVT graduate of Harrison College who joined our team in January of 2023. Shelby has been a solid addition to our team, utilizing her tech skills to help appointments run smoothly. She especially loves building relationships with clients and their pets and providing them with the best care.

Shelby is kept busy with her two human and four furry kids: Rudy, a greyhound; Marnie, an Aussie mix; and Midas and Helios, her feline friends. If you can’t find her during the warmer months, it’s because she’s camping, at a concert, or cheering on her daughter at the softball field.

vet
Vanessa Belcher, RVT
Vanessa attended Vet Tech Institute and graduated in 2013, joining our team in October 2019 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Vanessa has been an amazing addition to our work family, always ready with a smile, helpful advice, or a thoughtful gift. She uses her attention to detail and conscientious attitude to educate our clients on the proper care of puppies and kittens, helping get them on the right track for a long and happy life.

Vanessa lives with her husband, Josh. Together they care for their four pets: Cash, a pitbull; Dahlia and Hank, mini poodles; and Storm, their Siamese mix. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her ever-growing house plant collection and going to car shows with her husband.

Calyn Pope
Calyn Pope, RVT

If you have ever been at our hospital and felt a strong breeze, it was Calyn rushing past making sure everything is running as a well-oiled machine. She’s been part of our team since August of 2019. While working full-time with us, she also took online classes through Penn Foster to earn her degree in Veterinary Technology. Calyn also received her BS in Criminal Justice from Indiana

University in 2017, but we try not to hold her past university choices against her (Boiler Up!). Thankfully for us, she ultimately chose veterinary medicine as her career.

Concerts, painting, working out, road trips, and dinner out with friends are just a few of the recreational activities Calyn pursues after hours. She’s known to sing along to every song, share a good joke, and quote Spongebob daily. Her home is filled with love from two rescue cats (Archer and Huey) and one amazing dog named River.

Taylor Anders
Taylor Anders, Assistant
Taylor joined our team in March of 2024. She is always ready with a smile and is quick to jump in and help with whatever is needed, and her strong work ethic and positive attitude creates a fun work environment. She truly cares about animal wellbeing, and she enjoys helping clients understand ways to better help their pets live long and happy lives. Taylor is also furthering her education by pursuing her degree in Veterinary Technology through Penn Foster. When not at work, she enjoys being a silly goose, reading, hiking, and baking, and is kept busy with her husband and her four dogs: Buddy, Cooper, Nova, and Sig.
vet
Audrey Hines, Assistant
Audrey has been a wonderful asset to our team from the beginning. We are elated that she chose us for her first job in veterinary medicine; her love of animals really shines through with her passion for patient care. If you ever can’t find her, she’s probably in the kennel snuggling a surgery patient (it’s adorable, trust us).

When Audrey is away from the hospital, you might find her spending time with her husband, family, and friends or watching the newest rom-com…but don’t ask her the name of the movie, it’s the one with the one guy from that other movie. When Audrey is home, she has the full attention of her super fluffy Bernese Mountain Dog, Rey, and her adorably aloof cat, Clooney.

vet
Jeanna Baker, Assistant
After spending years working in retail, Jeanna has rediscovered her passion for the veterinary field. We’re glad she found us, because Jeanna truly does it all; she can be found at the front desk working as a receptionist or in the treatment area assisting in appointments. This photography hobbyist spends her free time hiking and camping with her fiancé, Julius, and their four kids. They enjoy local state parks as well as traveling out of state. Her busy household is completed with their dog, Jax, a scrappy miniature schnauzer.
vet
Maddie Johnson, Assistant
Maddie joined our team in December of 2024. She has always had a soft spot for animals (especially a chunky cat) so getting to work in a veterinary hospital is an amazing opportunity for her to help pets in need. She enjoys being part of a team that has a positive impact on pets’ lives.

At home, she has three cats who basically run the show—Winnie, Applesauce, and Snow. She loves snapping pictures and videos of them, whether they’re doing something funny or just having a sweet moment. When she’s not at work, she can be found relaxing with a good iced coffee, a crime podcast or medical show, and her windows open to let in a nice breeze.

vet
Kendra Stelzel, Assistant
Kendra has been with us since March of 2025. She’s another one of our veterinary assistants with a strong passion for animal care and wellness. She has always had a deep love for animals, which led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She enjoys being able to advocate for those who can’t speak for themselves and playing a hands-on role in improving their health and quality of life.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her kids and her horses, especially her favorite, Zue. Whether she is out riding, caring for animals, or enjoying the outdoors, she is happiest when she can connect with animals and nature.

vet
Sierra Grooms, Receptionist
Sierra joined us in April of 2022 as a receptionist and truly loves her job here. Sierra has been in the customer service industry for the past 10 years and loves to help people and animals! She went to school at St. Vincent where she got her EMT/BLS license.

Sierra loves coffee, astrology, Japanese culture, and crystals. Sierra has always been an avid animal lover, so much so that she became a vegetarian! She loves all animals, including dogs and cats, elephants, big jungle cats, and even penguins and dolphins. Sierra is a phenomenal artist, and when she has the time you can find her doing puzzles, painting, reading, writing poetry, or cuddling her Yorkshire terrier, Bruno.

vet
Stacey Valentine, Receptionist

Stacey has been an unflappable part of our team since July of 2014. Stacey does the impossible: fielding phone calls, checking in our patients, balancing the schedule of appointments, and deciphering the writing of our veterinarians. Stacey has an associate’s degree in accounting and her veterinary assistant diploma.

Rain or shine, you will find her outdoors. It doesn’t matter how warm or cold, she enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking and fishing. Her love of the outdoors has led her to become an Advanced Indiana Master Naturalist. Stacey also enjoys the company of her substantial Great Dane, Luna, and her lovable cat, Geoff.
