Debbie Coffey, Receptionist:

If you have called the hospital to set up an appointment or ask a question, you have probably had the pleasure of speaking with Debbie, our Head Receptionist.  Since July 2012, she has brought her charm to our hospital and our clients.  Debbie's 9 years of experience as a veterinary assistant at another small animal clinic has given her the knowledge to help with most of your over-the-phone needs.  She is a true people person and enjoys meeting our clients and their pets.

When she is not working hard for us, Debbie enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with family.  She is an avid sports fan and loves to cheer on the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame football team with her husband, Rich.  Together they have Forrest, a 9 year old cat, and Norman, a 12 year old Boston Terrier.

Sam Haygood, RVT:

Though you may not have met Sam, she is working hard behind the scenes to help give your pet the best care.  Since September 2012, she has been one of two, Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) on staff.  As a 2010 Graduate of Purdue University, with a BS in Veterinary Technology, she has been a great asset to our veterinary team.  She enjoys the challenging cases and cares for each patient as they were her own.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys reading, running "when the mood strikes", Pinteresting, and watching Duck Dynasty with her husband, Brandon. (Yes folks this one is taken!)  Currently Sam is training to run the Indy Mini Marathon for the second time in May.  At home, Sam is busy caring for her spunky Jack Russell Terrier, Remi; a 3 legged chinchilla, Chunk; and a frisky cat, Retta.

Karma Holland, RVT:

Since January 2012, Karma has been doing everything in her power to make you and your pets' visits to the McCordsville Veterinary Hospital as pleasant as possible, whether that be at the reception desk or in the trenches with the doctors.  A native of Peru, Indiana, Karma escaped the circus as a teenager, and attended Ball State University where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning and Development in 2005, and again in 2008 with a Master of Landscape Architecutre, ABD, degree.  Despite all of her academic success, she still felt a void that could only be filled with yet more schooling, and in 2011 she graduated, yet again, with an associate degree in Veterinary Technology.  Thankfully for the people of McCordsville, an unforeseen force lured Karma away from academia, and she landed her dream job with us!

Away from the clinic, Karma spends countless hours cleaning up after and tending to the needs of her critters:  Boris, Jeepers, and Squeaks are her ducks (yes, ducks can be pets too!  They even help make breakfast sometimes!); Maddie is one of the best Doberman Pinschers in the world; and Charlie is a wee little Miniature Pinscher, who is certain that he is a giant.  Karma and her husband, Matt enjoy boating and water sports, are both avid readers, and thoroughly enjoy following rigorous exercise protocols.

 Arlene Gross, Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist:

Our newest staff member, Arlene, joined the team in March 2013.  Excited to be working with small animals, Arlene has 5 previous years experience with equine veterinary care.  She will be dividing her time between assisting at the front desk and aiding the veterinarians with the care of your pets.

Away from the clinic, Arlene spends a great deal of time at the farm with her husband John and their two children, Daniel and Sydney.  The Gross family breed and show Arabian horses.  Currently, the breeding program has produced one National champion and three National Top Ten horses.  They also have two family dogs:  a Vizsla named Farley and a Mastiff mix named Roxie.  In her spare time Arlene enjoys gardening, horseback riding and spending as much time as possible with her family.

Sherry Stanley, Veterinary Assistant:

One of the sweet familiar faces of the hospital, Sherry, has been gracing us with her presence since August 2004.  Sherry strives to give all patients and their owners the highest quality of care and attention.  It is a passion of hers to work with animals.  She has over 15 years of experience working at a veterinary hospital both as an assistant and receptionist.

Besides all she does here at the hospital, Sherry has many hobbies and talents she works on in her spare time.  She is skilled in sign language and has a background in art.  She enjoys boating and bonfires in the summer time with her husband, Terry, and two kids, Christian and Samantha.  Her family also shares their home with a dog, Sammy, and 2 cats, Sandy Paws and Sebastian.

Wendy Wethington, Veterinary Assistant:

If you have visited or called the hospital at all, chances are you spoke with Wendy.  Since February 2001 she has been working hard to provide our clients and their pets outstanding care.   Her enthusiasm for animals is shown through the work she has done as a veterinary assistant/receptionist for the past 23 years.

Wendy is very active here at the hospital and at home.  In the spring/summer months you will find her tending to her vegetable garden and chickens, swimming, supporting her granddaughter's competitive cheer team, or pampering her own dogs; Harley, a Yorkie-Poo; Brandy, a Maltese-Shih Tzu; Skittles, a Shih Tzu; and of course our beloved Snowball, a Pekinese.  Helping her take care of those four is, Teddy, her husband of 17 years.
